Mission and Values
Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
Thelema (or "Will") is our guiding principle: the Law of Light, Life, Love, and Liberty. Love shall be the expression of the Will. “We are all free, all independent, all shining gloriously, each one a radiant world.” – “Liber DCCCXXXVII: The Law of Liberty,” from Equinox III(1)
As a chartered body of the United States Grand Lodge, O.T.O. (U.S.G.L.), Chariot of Eternity continues to endorse our stated values here:
Membership free from unfair discrimination is essential to accomplishing our Mission and rejecting doctrines that promote bigotry, prejudice, and intolerance.
We support the liberty of the individual and the cultivation of self-respect, self-knowledge, self-discipline, and self-responsibility.
We affirm the bonds of fraternity and expect fidelity, frankness, cooperation, mutual aid, and good faith among our members.
We advocate the principles of scientific religion and universal brotherhood and oppose tyranny, superstition, and oppression.
We accept and uphold the Law of Thelema as promulgated in the Book of the Law and the writings of the Prophet of the Aeon, Aleister Crowley.
Chariot of Eternity members aspire to align these values with our mission as a chartered body of the U.S.G.L. Our Mission is complimentary:
To maintain and promote a structured society of individuals within the United States of America who are united by their acceptance of the Law of Thelema. We also share the common experience of ceremonial initiation and sacramental ritual by common pledges of fidelity, cooperation, and mutual aid. We accomplish these by promoting individual liberty; self-discipline; self-knowledge; universal brotherhood; and opposition to tyranny, superstition, and oppression.
To manage and govern Chariot of Eternity in substantial conformance with the principles set forth in the writings of Aleister Crowley and other historical leaders of O.T.O., with the approval and under the authorization of the U.S.G.L., and in such a way as to ensure its continued survival and promote its continued growth and advancement.
To provide certain benefits to the members of this society, including, but not limited to: participation in sacramental rituals; social community and entertainment; pastoral guidance and mediation of disputes; instruction in Hermetic Science, Yoga, and Magick; and opportunities for creative expression, community service, and development of beneficial social and professional relationships.
To preserve and advance the principles and practices of Thelema's religious, philosophical, and magical system and promote the principles of individual liberty and universal brotherhood.
May Hagia Sophia guide you on your journey towards Illumination and The Great Work.
Love is the law, love under will.
